What qualifications are needed to be a cover supervisor? There are no specific qualifications required to become a cover supervisor , however, many successful candidates have at least some experience in teaching or working with children and some cover supervisors have fully qualified teacher status.

Career Teachers Leicester are currently recruiting for a Cover Supervisor for a large primary school in Leicester City. The role involves overseeing classes of 25 – 30 students while they complete work that has been previously set for them by an absent teacher or a teacher on PPA cover. You will be required to oversee the completion of work within a variety of different subjects, including Maths, English, Science etc. The school are expecting their cover supervisors to support learners academic progress where possible whilst also ensuring that students are behaving appropriately during lessons. The school are looking for applicants who can commit to working on a full-time basis and who have the ability to be flexible and willing to get involved within a variety of subjects across the school’s curriculum. This is a great opportunity to start a career working within education and experience working in a classroom environment. It is an ideal opportunity for ECTs or Level 2/3 qualified Teaching assistants with experience doing PPA cover.

Required to be a successful Primary Cover Supervisor:

* Previous experience working with children aged 4-11.

* A desire to make a difference to students and their education.

* A willingness to get involved in a variety of different subjects across the school’s curriculum – Maths & English specialisms are ideal.
