HR Systems Administrator
About The Role Join Compass Community’s Digital Transformation Journey
Compass Community is on an exciting path of growth and innovation — and our people systems sit at the heart of that change. We’re looking for an HR Systems Administrator to play a key role in managing and optimising the digital systems that power our people operations.
This is a brand-new position within our Technology Applications Team, designed to strengthen the digital backbone of our organisation and support the delivery of a fully integrated, end-to-end operating model. You’ll be part of a business-wide transformation programme that’s modernising how we work, improving automation, and unlocking real-time data insights across Compass.
The Role
- As an HR Systems Administrator, you’ll take ownership of key people systems - including HRIS, Learning, Recruitment and related systems managing upgrades and enhancements.
- You’ll ensure these systems are reliable, secure, and user-friendly - supporting our People teams to work efficiently and with confidence in their data and providing support to internal users.
- You’ll also play a central role in transformation and digitisation projects, partnering with DevOps, BI and operational teams to enhance reporting, data integrity, and system integration.
Key Responsibilities
- System Maintenance & Configuration: Maintaining the HR systems, implementing updates, and configuring modules (Sage People, Learn Amp, Eploy and recruitment tools).
- Data Integrity & Security: Ensuring data accuracy, performing regular data audits, and managing user permissions and security access.
· Playing a key role in the selection, implementation and optimisation of Compass’s new HRIS ECO system, with awareness of the wider HR applications market considered advantageous.
- Reporting & Analytics: Working closely with the BI team to deliver accurate, timely and automated reporting.
- User Support & Guidance: Acting as the first point of contact for HR system queries, troubleshooting, and guiding staff on system functionality.
- Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities to automate or streamline HR processes within the system in collaboration with Operational, Procurement and IT teams.
- Vendor Management: Liaising with HR technology vendors to resolve issues and implement improvements
- Ensure compliance with data protection and security standards.
About You
You’re detail-oriented, analytical and proactive, with a strong background in technology to drive smarter ways of working. You’ll bring:
- 3–5 years’ experience in systems administration, IT engineering, or advanced support roles.
- Experience with implementing and maintaining HR information systems. (e.g., Sage People, PeopleSoft, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors)
- Experience in Learning Management Systems (e.g. Learn Amp or similar enterprise systems).
- A degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Strong documentation discipline and commitment to systems hygiene.
- Strong understanding of HR data reporting, workflow automation and integration.
- Familiarity with service management tools such as ServiceNow, Jira/Confluence or Azure DevOps within Agile environments.
- The confidence to collaborate across teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
Above all, you’ll be motivated by Compass’s purpose — to use innovation and integrity to make a real difference for children, families and colleagues.
