Graduate Structural Engineer
Graduate Structural Engineer Location: Leicester About the Role We are looking for a Graduate Structural Engineer with 2–4 years of experience to join our structural engineering team. The role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of building and commercial projects, supporting senior engineers in the analysis, design, and delivery of structural solutions from concept through to construction. This position is ideal for an engineer seeking to develop strong technical capability while progressing towards professional chartership. Key Responsibilities Structural analysis and design of building structures using steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and timber Preparation of structural calculations, technical reports, and design documentation Production and coordination of structural drawings using industry-standard software Assisting with concept, detailed, and construction-stage designs Liaising with architects, civil engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders Supporting site queries, inspections, and technical reviews Ensuring designs comply with relevant British Standards, Eurocodes, and Building Regulations Contributing to health & safety design under CDM Regulations Requirements Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (or equivalent) 2–5 years’ experience in a structural engineering role Experience working on building or commercial structure projects Good understanding of structural design principles and UK standards Familiarity with structural analysis and design software (e.g. ETABS, Tekla, Robot, STAAD, or similar) Competence in AutoCAD and/or Revit Strong communication and problem-solving skills Working towards ICE or IStructE chartership (or keen to do so) Desirable Skills Experience in BIM environments Exposure to construction-stage support and site inspections Knowledge of sustainable or low-carbon structural design Experience working on multi-disciplinary projects What We Offer Competitive salary and benefits package Structured training and mentorship from senior engineers Support towards professional chartership Exposure to a wide range of building and commercial projects A collaborative and supportive working environment
