A locum nurse is a registered nurse who works on a temporary or short-term basis to cover for another nurse who is absent due to illness, vacation, or other reasons. Responsibilities for a Locum nurse job in Leicester:
- Providing nursing care to patients in various settings
- Assistance with health screenings, immunizations, and other medical procedures
- Administering medications as prescribed by any healthcare professionals
- Recording patients’ medical histories and symptoms, and documenting treatments and medications in medical records
- Providing education and advice to patients
- Communicating effectively with other members of the healthcare team to ensure coordinated and effective care
- Adhering to all relevant policies and procedures
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all patient interactions and treatments.
Requirements and Qualifications for a Locum Nurse job in Leicester:
- A nursing degree or diploma from an accredited institution
- Active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- At least 1 year of experience working as a nurse in a clinical setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
