The successful Year 2 Teacher will begin pre-term planning ahead of January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and teach from January 2026 as a Full-Time Year 2 Teacher.

The role — Year 2 Teacher
As the Year 2 Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging phonics-led reading, sequenced writing units and practical maths lessons. The Year 2 Teacher will use assessment to personalise learning, lead small-group interventions and liaise closely with parents to secure good outcomes. The Full-Time Year 2 Teacher will be expected to lead transition activities, contribute to enrichment programmes and work with the phase team before and after January 2026.

Whole-school contribution and the Year 2 Teacher
The Year 2 Teacher will be encouraged to take part in whole-school initiatives, lead a club or support curriculum development projects. As the Year 2 Teacher, you will contribute to collaborative planning, mentor less experienced staff and support moderation activities from the weeks preceding January 2026 and through the term after January 2026.
