We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and committed candidate to apply for this Band 7 Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) post. Applicants must have current BABCP registration with full practitioner accreditation. The successful applicant will work within CAMHS Outpatients.

Leicester Partnership NHS Trust is a large provider of Community Health, Mental Health and Learning Disability services for around 1 million people across Leicester City, Leicestershire and Rutland. We are recruiting a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist to join our Psychological Professions team, working in a strong multidisciplinary setting delivering services for young people and their families/carers.

Our CAMHS service includes City and County Outpatient teams and specialist teams for adolescent inpatient care, learning disabilities, primary mental health, eating disorders, crisis services, lookedafter and adopted children, young offenders, homeless young people and paediatric psychology.

The post holder will work in the generic CAMHS outpatient team, offering mental health assessment and intervention to children and young people with moderate to severe difficulties. They will be passionate about addressing health inequalities and creative in improving access for vulnerable groups, supporting strategic objectives to embed highquality, evidencebased interventions.

The role includes direct work with children, young people and families, and supporting CBT approaches across pathways through staff training and supervision.

Job Description Summary (Main duties and responsibilities)

To work as a Specialist Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist as part of psychological therapy and psychology services within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and care pathways. To provide a comprehensive, highly specialist cognitive behavioural psychotherapy service to young people with complex problems for which CBT is evidenced to be clinically effective.

This includes working with children and adolescents who may present with severe and treatment resistant disorders with co-existing conditions. To use a broad theoretical knowledge base to provide specialist cognitive behavioural assessments and formulations that inform highly skilled CBT interventions.

To work as a highly skilled autonomous practitioner, managing a caseload under clinical and case management supervision. To offer consultation and guidance to other mental health professionals, other treatment pathways and community colleagues. To contribute to the ongoing development of CBT practice taking into account advances in treatment, theory and research. This post requires in-person attendance at clinics, meetings, assessments and liaison with other professionals, which could include attending MDT meetings, for example Strat meetings, child in need and more. The team can offer some hybrid working, this would be in accordance with LPT's flexible working agreement.

To maintain highly specialist CBT knowledge and skills and hold and maintain BABCP accreditation. The post holder will communicate across language and cultural barriers, working with interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities. To work remotely as necessary and to work from a base, in patients’ homes or in outdoor spaces and clinics at across LPT sites, adhering to all the Trust’s standard operating procedures and health and safety guidance.
