Deputy Manager - Children's Residential Home
Location: Leicester ( LE67 )
Salary: 16.50 per hour + 45 per sleep-in
Hours: 160 hours per month
We are seeking an experienced and committed Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of a 4-bed children's residential home for young people aged 8-17.
This role is key to ensuring the delivery of high-quality, child-centred care in line with the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards. You will lead shifts, support staff, and help create a safe, stable, and nurturing environment where young people can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager in the effective running of the home
- Take responsibility for the home in the Manager's absence
- Lead shifts and provide direction to the staff team
- Ensure safeguarding practices are consistently upheld
- Support young people's emotional, social, and educational development
- Supervise, mentor, and develop staff performance
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
- Work in partnership with local authorities, schools, and professionals
- Contribute to audits, inspections, and quality assurance processes
Requirements
- Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People (essential)
- Experience working in a children's residential setting
- Previous leadership or senior-level experience
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and childcare regulations
- Willingness to undertake Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification
