Lecturer: Generalist - PSD/Vocational - Prison Education - HMP Fosse Way

MK College Group have an exciting new opportunity for a PSD/vocational generalist Tutor, to join the team based at HMP Fosse Way, Leicester. Working as PSD/Vocational Generalist you will be actively engaging prison-based students with creative classes and resources across a range of subjects. Support would be given to develop in subject areas you are not experienced in but you would need to possess Level 4 or higher qualification/s in at least 1 subject specialism/vocational area.
Many of the students have a diverse range of needs and learning abilities, they will often have had a negative experience with education. As a successful Tutor, you will truly inspire them and provide students with a positive learning experience.
This role may involve outreach work outside of the main classroom setting. You will be connecting with students in a professional manner, supporting them with their learning, enabling them to achieve success through not only qualifications, but developing the confidence and softer skills that they can apply to employment as well as other areas of education.
We are seeking an individual who can communicate well with students to inspire and motivate them. The average class consists of 12 students, supported by a student mentor. The sessions are approximately 2.75 long. Your lessons will need to be adaptable, innovative, and imaginative.
