Finance Officer - Secondary School, Leicester
A well-established and forward-thinking secondary school in Leicester is seeking a skilled and reliable Finance Officer to join its business and operations team. This is a key role within the school, supporting financial processes that enable teaching and learning to run smoothly.

The Role
This position supports the day-to-day financial operations of the school, working closely with the School Business Manager and senior leadership team. The role offers a good balance of responsibility, structure and collaboration, ideal for someone with experience in education or public-sector finance.
Key responsibilities include:
Processing purchase orders, invoices and payment runs
Monitoring budgets and expenditure against agreed forecasts
Supporting month-end processes, reconciliations and reporting
Managing income streams, including parental payments and grants
Maintaining accurate financial records in line with audit and compliance requirements
Responding to finance queries from staff and suppliers

Who This Role Is For

Has experience in a finance or accounts role
Is confident using financial systems and spreadsheets
Has strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Communicates clearly with both finance and non-finance staff
Understands the importance of compliance and confidentiality
Experience within a school, academy or public-sector setting would be advantageous but is not essential.
