What you will do:

* Lead and manage a team of social workers responsible for initial assessments and safeguarding interventions.

* Oversee referrals and assessments, including Child in Need (Section 17) and Child Protection (Section 47) processes.

* Ensure timely and high-quality statutory assessments, care planning, and decision-making.

* Provide supervision, performance management, and professional development to team members.

* Chair and contribute to strategy discussions, case conferences, and multi-agency safeguarding meetings.

Person Specification:

* Degree in Social Work (BA/MA or equivalent) with evidence of continued professional development.

* Management or leadership qualification desirable but not essential.

* Registered with Social Work England with strong knowledge of legislation including the Children Act 1989 and 2004, and Working Together to Safeguard Children.

* Enhanced DBS clearance required.
