Residential Conveyancer (Solicitor / FCILEx / Licensed Conveyancer)

An established and busy residential property team is seeking an experienced Residential Conveyancer to join its busy Leicester based team. This role offers the opportunity to manage a varied and high-quality caseload while contributing to the continued growth and success of the residential conveyancing department.

The role:

You will be responsible for handling their own caseload of residential conveyancing matters, including:

• Sales, purchases, transfers of equity and remortgages
• Complex transactions such as shared ownership
• Leasehold matters
• Lease extensions
• Right to buy
• Plot sales and purchases and sales and purchases of part.

The role involves managing files from instruction through to post-completion, including SDLT submissions and Land Registry requisitions, checking title and legal documentation, meeting clients and providing clear, proactive advice throughout the transaction process.

In addition, the role requires maintaining up-to-date knowledge of residential conveyancing law and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with all statutory and professional obligations including CQS and anti-money laundering regulations, supporting assistants working on files, maintaining accurate billing and file records, and contributing to service improvements. The lawyer will also play an active role in client care, business development, internal collaboration, external relationship building with referrers, safeguarding vulnerable clients, and reporting any compliance or risk issues promptly.
