Teacher of Mathematics (11-18) - Ashby-de-la-Zouch,...
A well-established 11–18 secondary school in Ashby-de-la-Zouch is seeking a confident and committed Teacher of Mathematics to join its successful Maths department. The Mathematics Provision
Mathematics is a well-resourced and highly structured department within the school. The curriculum is carefully sequenced from Key Stage 3 through to GCSE and A-Level, ensuring students build secure foundations and confidence over time.
At Key Stage 3, teaching focuses on fluency, reasoning and problem-solving through consistent routines and high-quality modelling. At GCSE and Sixth Form, lessons are purposeful and exam-aware, with a strong emphasis on precision, application and independent thinking.
Teachers work within a shared framework of schemes, assessments and resources, helping to reduce workload while maintaining consistency across classes.

Deliver clear, well-structured lessons
Use assessment effectively to support progress
Contribute to collaborative planning and moderation
Support intervention or enrichment where appropriate
Support is readily available from experienced colleagues, and new staff are welcomed into a genuinely collaborative team.
The School Environment
This is a Good-rated secondary school known for its calm, purposeful atmosphere and strong behaviour culture. Students are respectful and routines are well embedded, allowing teachers to focus on teaching rather than classroom management.
Leadership is visible and approachable, with a clear focus on staff wellbeing, professional trust and realistic expectations around workload.
Facilities and Resources
The Maths department is based in a dedicated area of the school, with modern classrooms, interactive teaching technology and shared digital resources that support modelling and assessment.
Staff benefit from well-organised systems and a clear timetable structure that supports work–life balance.
