People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Leicester, Leicestershire. This is a fantastic opportunity offering great rates of pay and room to grow and progress.

This position is ideal for applicants looking for a role as a LGV Class 1 Driver , CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver .

Shifts: Days & Nights ( Full time & Part Time Roles Available

Pay rate: £16.00 - £20.00 per hour

Day to Day Duties

Your duties as a Class 1 Driver will involve but not be limited to:

* RDC or Brewery Deliveries no handball (working on curtain-side)
* Operate and drive various Class 1 vehicles in a safe and efficient manner to and from delivery locations
* Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
* Ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly
* Adhere to traffic laws and regulations
* Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers
* Report any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
* Assist with loaded and unloading of cargo as needed

Essential Skills

As a Class 1 Driver you will need to:

* Hold a valid UK Category CE Licence
* Have a minimum of twelve months experience driving CE vehicles
* No more than six penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes
* Have a valid UK CPC Card and UK Digi Card
* Must be able to speak and read a good level of English
* Punctuality and excellent time keeping skills
* Have a good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
* Effective communication skills

Desirable Experience

* Experience driving any commercial vehicles
* Previous experience with multi drop deliveries

Training

* Driver's Assessment will have to be completed where needed
* Industry related training and ongoing support throughout
